INTRODUCTION In 21st century, more and more disciplines are brought into the study of translation. "Intertextuality" as an basic concept of semiotics is no exception. The nature of translation makes it possible and necessary to deem "intertextuality" a prominent perspective in translation studies. In this paper, author will study intertextual elements in two versions of Long Fellow's "A Psalm of Life" to show how to apply "intertextuality" into the translation of poetry.
